omp-sa-traffic-lab
omp-sa-traffic-lab is a standalone experiment repo for GTA SA-like ambient traffic on a generic open.mp server.
The current state focuses on a local Angel Pine cluster:
- 20 NPC-driven traffic vehicles
- a spawn pool built from the open.mp NPC node files
- radius-based simulation around the Angel Pine town center
- respawn when vehicles leave the cluster or finish a node run
- a server log heartbeat for position and jump analysis
Layout

Requirements
This repo expects a local open.mp server installation with components and qawno includes. In the current workspace these are linked into server/ via symlinks.
Important paths:
server/omp-serverserver/componentsserver/qawno
Those symlinks are intentionally not part of the repo. They are created locally.
Local setup
./setup_local_server.sh /path/to/open.mp/Server
Build
./build.sh
Run
./run.sh
Default port:
7780
Current scope
This repo does not yet reproduce the original SA CCarCtrl behavior exactly. It is a practical testbed for:
- NPC-only traffic on open.mp
- spawn and despawn heuristics
- local node clusters
- observing movement deltas and node transitions
Next steps
- local segment and lane models instead of raw node playback
- better curated spawn pools for Angel Pine
- simple rules for right of way, intersections, and traffic flow
